Harvest Festivals 2017

Harvest Festivals 2017

The Harvest Festival season is almost upon us!  Wakerley Church is first up on Sunday 10 September at 3pm.  All are most welcome!

At each of our Harvest Services we will be collecting dry goods, tins or toiletries for the Stamford Foodbank.  Please bring a contribution with you.

Foodbank boxes being packed

In recent weeks the local foodbanks have almost run out of goods which is very serious.  We, in our relative affluence, can do something to change that.  Please be generous.

Thank you

Christopher Armstrong

Saddle up with the Sheriff’s Chaplain!

Saddle up with the Sheriff’s Chaplain!

Ride and Stride to support Rutland and Northamptonshire Historic Churches on Saturday 9 September!

The Sheriff’s Chaplain cannot ride with the Sheriff on Bank Holiday Monday so Christopher Armstrong, our Priest-in-Charge, will ride out from The Exeter Arms, Barrowden at 1.00pm on 9 September for a moderate Bike Ride which befits both old and young.

He will aim to cover the 6 churches in the Welland-Fosse Benefice and any more that the posse might feel moved to take in.  So why not join this priestly posse?  All are welcome!  Children should be accompanied by a parent.

If however, your cycling days are over and you would still like to support, then why not sponsor The Sheriff’s Chaplain for a shilling or two?  Sign-up forms are to be found at the back of all our churches. Money raised will be split between our Benefice Churches and the Rutland Historic Churches Preservation Trust.
