INTERCESSIONS FOR SERVICES ON THE 8TH MAY 2022

Prayers of intercession.

The response is:

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

The Lord is our shepherd. We give thanks today for so many things, a thousand miracles we take for granted every day. Thank you for the beauty and diversity of the natural world. We pray for our local farmers as they work through all kinds of weather and at all times of the day and night to care for their livestock and grow food for the nation.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

The Lord is our shepherd. We pray for the Church, giving thanks for the opportunity to worship freely and remembering those for whom this is impossible. We pray for the leaders of the Church, for our Bishops Donald and John. We give thanks for Ann and visiting priests who have looked after us during the last few months.  We pray for those involved in planning for our new incumbent and for Stephen and his wife as they prepare for their move to take up the post here in the Welland-Fosse Benefice.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

The Lord is our shepherd. We know that our world is both wonderful and flawed. We see the symptoms of a disordered world in every news broadcast. We pray for those places which are especially damaged and in need of healing – especially Ukraine. As a shepherd watches over his sheep, protects them from harm, feeds them and keeps them safe; we bring the people of war-torn countries to the feet of the shepherd. And we look, too, for ways that we can offer practical help.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

The Lord is our shepherd and we bring to him people in any kind of need for whom talk of ‘life in all its fullness’ would mean little. We pray those we know who are ill, those who are anxious about loved ones, those who have money worries. Like a loving parent, we ask you to be beside the sick, the disturbed, the damaged, the lost.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

The Lord is our shepherd and into his hands we commit those who have run the race and been faithful servants to almighty God. May your light shine upon them and may our lives be richer for having known them.

Your kingdom come,

Your will be done

Amen.
