Saw him transfigured in majesty,

We pray that his glory may be seen in our lives

And in our world.

Lord Jesus,

We pray that you will reveal your glory

In the Church seeking to serve you.

May your light guide and unite us in love

To bring your good news

To every community, country, continent and culture.

Lord Jesus,

We pray that you will reveal your glory in the world,

Grappling with its many problems- from political turmoil, climate change, economic inequalities to living with Covid.

Your answer for troubled times has always been the same:

Heaven has an occupied throne.

Lord, uppermost in our minds is the tragic and treacherous situation unfolding in Ukraine.

May your light banish the darkness of war

Empower all those striving to restore peace

So that we may live in harmony, justice and compassion for one another.

 Enable the people of the world through our governments and humanitarian agencies to lend support to those suffering, to give our support politically, financially, medically and practically

 And to provide safe havens for the many dispossessed from their homes.

 

We also pray for those still suffering from the aftermath of the recent storms.

Our planet is a beautiful but fragile one.

Teach us to treasure it

So our children’s children can all share equally

In all the good things in the wonderful world you have given us.

We pray that you will reveal your glory

To all who are struggling with the uncertainties and complexities of life

May your light pierce the fog of angst or despair

Instilling in us instead an enduring sense of faith and hope

So that we may trust in your unfailing love

To reassure and walk alongside us.

We pray that you will reveal your glory

To those who are suffering from ill-health of body or mind.

We pray especially for Kay that she will regain her strength and good health.

We pray for all who are enduring the silent grip of grief, loneliness and isolation.

May your light shine through

Bringing the comforting warmth of your presence

and the healing of your touch.

In us and through us to our family, friends, neighbours near and far.

May our lives display and reflect

Your transforming power

Wherever you place us.
