Having Your Baby Christened

Having Your Baby Christened

The baptism (also called christening) of your child is a very special occasion for both your family and the church family which he or she will join. For this reason, baptisms take place during a regular church service, which is usually on a Sunday. (You can find the regular pattern of worship for your particular church in your parish magazine, or elsewhere on this website. If in doubt, ask one of your churchwardens.)

A Baptism Application  Form can be obtained from your churchwardens or from Barrowden Rectory. The form needs to be returned to Barrowden Rectory after an agreed date and time for the baptism has been finalized.

The Church of England has a superb website all about Christenings which will answer many of your questions, but our Priest-in-Charge The Very Reverend Christopher Armstrong will also be happy to help.
